Dear Mr. Grease,
I would like to thank you so much for your hard work and dedication to the sport of cross country. I feel that more people out there should do the kind of research you do, which makes for unspeculative poll based on hard facts. Where as your facts proba
ly create the best ranking, sometimes gut feelings and intiution must be taken into perspective.
Although there is a rumor going around that cajun wonder ryan travis has been suspended for violating team rules, i feel that the hogs are primed and ready to win the national championship. i agree wholeheartedly that the hogs have the studs to get the j
b done. placing seven guys under 25 min at the cowboy jamboree, which is the oldest xc race around, is the best showing by any team so far. the course was also muddy and if it was muddy like last year than those are some damn good times. with the hogs
robably resting some of their guys at the district meet, they will be primed and ready to roll around in the mud and celebrate a victory at nationals. "pig su eee!!" note: the hogs better watch out at districts, if they don't run all their guys.
My next pick will have to be NC STATE. the wolfpack have been lingering around long enough and they want a piece of the action. this is my darkhorse team. i don't think they have the tools to beat the hogs, but they can put it to the other teams. pons
and alzindani are ready to lead this team past the cardinal and the buffs. maybe i don't know much about these guys but i just like em.
Next i will go with stanford. vin's boys can't handle the pressure without the hausers. riley's gonna run awesome but somebody else is going to choke up and they won't be able to muster more than third. fifth was probably a little too steep for the c
rdinal.
so i don't have much information on these teams but oh well i must express my feelings. finally i will rank wisconsin and then colorado. wisconsin has a great frontrunner in downin who probably shoulda ran faster at griak. i like the badgers over the b
ffs. sure the torres brothers are good, but one of them is gonna mess up at the big show. they'll get thrown around by the hogs and they won't be able to recover. Roybal and blondeau are good but they are just not the same since bigXII outdoors. i don
t have as much respect for them anymore. i see the buffs even being threatened to win the bigXII cross country championships.
so there are some of my feelings on the subject. my biggest concern is the hogs and wolfpack. i don't care much about anything else, except that i hope the aggies make top 20.
continue surfing for the truth my well read friend, yet the story will be told only on november 22, 1999. this is the day of the revelation when the battle is fought on the grass and hills of bloomington. let the strong survive and the weak suffer the d
ath march in the back of the pack.

Thank you Washington. #22, not bad for being based off a run that was alright. I think the Torres brothers are anxious to get onto some bigger, better competition. After the past weeks workouts, I think the number 2 spot in the conference that Abagg gi
es the Aggies, is a pretty accurate prediction. We definitley need more entries here. I expect at least 3 by everyone in the morning.

Colorado is looking exceptionally well. I look for them to take #2, especially with Goucher still training with them. That kid is good. I like NC State this year though. Colorado better look out. My pick for now is NC State making a run for it with S
anford and take #3 and #4 respectively. Ballsy, I think not.

Koop, your name is way too obvious. It only took me half an hour till i figured out who koop was. "Thank you Michigan!" - aTm & Utah. Grease, where do you get this magical power. Your knowledge is incomprehendable and overwhelming. From an idealist's
erspective, you are much closer to God than I am.

HOW ABOUT SOME DEBATE! What do you think of Stanford, Colorado, WASHINGTON, Arizona, etc. after this weekend's action. I'm thinking Stanford looked good, but there are some holes. J. Torres will be a freshman all-american. Thank you, Washington.

I would like to first of all express my great joy in first reading the first edition of the ECCP of the 1999 Cross Country season, and was extremley excited that you decided to put up a web page to compliment the great poll. This poll was particularly in
depth and insightful, mot to mention extremley ballsy (Stanford I mean). In short I would like to thank the great author of the ECCP for his time, effort, and amazing artwork, that we call the ECCP. By the way, did anybody see Michigan's finish at Notre
Dame. WOW!
